Hi EveryOne...

Hey... it is Wed night and I hope to get some sleep tonight. This last week or so I have not been sleeping well. Last night I was up most of the night with a migraine. Thank god it left before I had to go to work today.

It is really heating up here in Mn with the temps and the humidity. I don't think that helps people either when it comes to feeling tired !

I have decided to stop eating any diary products what so ever and that has seemed to help all my tummy problems I was having. Until I build up my probiatics again. Then I can eat the things that I love.

Nothing tooo much new with us here this week....

We did find a 200.00 storm door for our home at the local home depot for a steal of a price at 50.00. I have wanted one forever and now we will have one. It is a good quality Anderson door as well and just the type I was looking at. It was the right size and so it worked out great! Hopefully Hubby can get that up this weekend !

I have a few days off next week as we will be heading to the lake with my family. Might even head up to Duluth to bum around there in all of the fun shops in Canal Park. It is always a good time. We are hoping and praying for boating weather... since we have not got toooo lucky in that department once yet this year. Our tubs have not seen water. But hopefully they will next weekend.

We really enjoy our time at the lake and spending time with family!

New Drink... ( new topic)

Well if you are local or you might have seen on the news there was a 2 year old boy that got ran over by a car and later the next day he passed. Well I know someone that was involved with the accident. I can't imagine how they must be feeling and what them and the family members are going through. So I want to send good thoughts and many prayers to all of the people involved. I know the little boy is now in heaven and doing well. Lets just hope that people and souls still here on earth with time and love, find a way to deal with it in a healthy manner. My heart goes out to them all.

Well I think that is all for me tonight !
Later................ :)

Just a Laugh

So I got this in an email today and it gave me a giggle. Hope it gives you one to. I was wondering where I could order one of these.... It would be sooo wonderful to have one of these and have all the buttons on there work. Ahhhh the possibilities .............
Have a good week all.
Neither my Hubby or I got much sleep so we are heading to bed early tonight. So I am gonna go do a few chores and hit the sack. As I pray for rain!

Deals and Steals as promised !

Well, as some of you might know. I have a cuttlebug. I just love it. It is soo much fun and you can do so much with it. While last weekend my friend Lori called me and she was at Joann's she got these two items for me for 12.00 for both of them. It was a steal since the price together for them would have normally been about 90.00 -95.00 ! Thanks Lori for this deal.

I hope this summer you are able to find some steals and deal for the things you enjoy!

More to Share....

Well.. if you read my blog much.. you know I LOVE my flowers. I have sooo many and the numbers seem to grow each year. Funny... my mother's yard looks like it is out of a book and when I was younger I always told her. I am never going to have flowers..it is toooooo much work. Funny how age changes your mind about certain things.....

Well it is mid-July and here are a few things that just popped into bloom this week in my yard !

This guy here in pink just happened to pop up outta no where all by himself. I did not plant him. But it sure is pretty. I think this must have been a left over from years ago. That is all I can figure.

Here is another form of a lily I planted in my new planter in the front yard. Ahhhh sooo pretty. Love the colors.I love the details of each flower... they all have their own special quality. Kinda like people do!

Hope you all have a bright day.

Tomorrow I will share some deals and steals a friend got me.

Sisterly Fun !

Sat... my sis and I had a scrapday. She came out for the day and we hit a few local shops and then came home to get to work. She enjoy's coming out to get ideas and use and borow big sis's stuff ! Its like a mini - play ground for her and so we work together and usually watch a movie on the t.v. or crank the tunes. Which ever we decide. Here is my sis working on a scrapbook for a gift as well. Xmas will be here before we know it and so she is getting started.

Here is a peak..of a page set I did. It is a bit more of a challenge when you are not sure what the pictures are that will fill the pages...
But I got some MORE of my scrapbook done and that is always a good thing. I am half way done and need to get back at it. Hopefully I can get a few pages done a few nights a week and finish it off. There where 30 pages all and all so alot to do! Then I will need to get back to my own wedding and honeymoon scrapbooks.

Hope you are all having a good day.

Friday Night Fun

Fun being V.I.P.

We got to wear these and sit in V.I.P.

So Friday night..me, my hubby and my bro & sis in law all hit the town.
People that know us.. know that most of the time we are with family or at home doing projects. We don't get out and have as much fun as we use to.
Most of the time we rather relax at home on the weekends or do something around our home. Always making improvements. We spend our money wisely and rarely discard it these days.

But Friday night we hit the town.. with a little gas and 5.00 parking we headed downtown Mpls for part of the BLOCK party ! My Hubby's union sponsored the event.. so it was neat. We got VIP tickets and passe's and had free food and things to drink all night long. Along with watching a few band. I was disappointed to find out Tim Mahoney.. who I really wanted to see had already played by the time we got there...

Here are a few pic's. !

A few pic's of the bands playing...

So we ate and drank and enjoyed the summer downtown and got a chance to spend time with my bro and sister in law and chit chat a bit as well.

Good times. Hope you all have a good one as well.

Rain

All week her in Mn they ( the weather man) had been saying rain, thunderstorms.. all week we have been waiting and hoping... and nothing. It has been sooo warm and soooo dry we all really need the rain. We can't keep our yard watered. ( for those of us that actually care) By the city rules we can only water every other day and only for a short amount of time. So it seems as though we water..by the time we get the entire yard we start all over because it is all bone dry again.
Today we finally got the rain and it only lasted about an hour. So nothing that will do much good. It would be nice if we got a gentle rain for a day or two straight. So...my hope is for a rainy weekend!

I am glad tomorrow is Friday and then the weekend will be here. As it has been a hard week, a stressful week and I have not been feeling well either.

If we get rain.. The yard will get what it needs and I can stay inside and scrap and get some chores done. It will be a win-win for me.

I have 9 pages done in the book and about 21 left to go...so I am going to be busy.

Tomorrow night we have a block party downtown to attend that my hubby got free concert tickets and free food tickets for. Yipppy.. something fun and free. One of my favorite local bands will be performing as well. Tim Mahoney and the Meanies.

Have a good weekend all!

What is our dollar worth ?

Well in this day and age our dollar is not worth a whole lot. In fact the U.S. Dollar is fastly becoming worth less. In fact other countries money is worth alot more then ours. Some what of a depressing thought...considering how hard we work for it.

Here is an interesting fact....., DID YOU KNOW ???
( I got this from the Chicago Sun Times)
The U.S. Department of Labor's Web site offers an inflation calculator so you can see how the buying power of a dollar has shrunk throughout the years.
* What cost you $1 in 1980 will cost you $2.63 today.
* What cost you $1 in 1990 will cost you $1.66 today.

DO you SUFFER ????

Do you ever SUFFER from acid tummy aches ? From heart burn ??? These are common items that I am a custom to very often. Well tums doesn't always do it and neither does a few other over the counter items. So while I am on a new med from the Doc.. and I am waiting for it to kick in... I have this to help. A Co-worker turned me on to this and after it worked like a charm a few times she got me a bottle. It is over the counter. It was only 4.50 here and I am told it can be bought at Walmart and Walgreens.

I hope this might be able to help you as well if you need a good anti-acid. It sure helps me alot.

Wood ticks...

Well as many of you may know...
once in a while I like to pass on info that might help you or a loved on. Info or helpful info. So here it is tonight. If you have wood ticks where you live and you ever get one... this is a tip you might want to try.... Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball.
Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and let it stay on the repulsive insect for a few seconds (15-20),
after which the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.
While I hope you do NOT get any of these... sometimes it does happen. So try this tip.

Next Project.....

Well in Oct... Jes and I will be trying on something new. For our first time ever we will be Uncle and Aunt. We have a brand new baby coming to the family in Oct. So in Aug... I have my Sister-in-Laws baby shower. While part of her gift is store bought.. then rest will be hand made. I am going to be putting alot of love and labor into a home made baby scrapbook. All she will have to do is stick on the pictures. While this is going to be fun and I reallllllly hope she enjoys all the work and love I need to put into it. The scrapbook about is about 30 pages and I have a little less then a month to complete this. So I better get my butt going and get scraping... this will be consuming my nights.....! I hope to get it done in a month !!!
I kinda forgot I bought this and needed to get going on it...!

Hope you all have a good week !!

P.S. Her PC is down so I hope she does not see this pic. I will take pic's of the pages I made as I go..but I will not be able to post them until after the shower....!

I'am BACK !!!

Well..it was not a weekend we had planned on the calendar to head to the lake. The cabin was rented for this weekend. But the renter pulled out.
So we decided to head up north! We needed some fun and some time on the lake and sun is what we needed.

Upon our arrival Friday night there was a huge storm.. and the electric was out until Sat morning. Not a great way to start things out.

The weekend was a disappointment.. when the storm came in so did the wind and the MUCH cooler weather then when we left the 90's at home.

There was 30 mile an hour winds and about 68 degree's. We where sooooo dummed. We wanted to use the boat..go tubing and have some fun. If anything else go for a few nice boat rides and enjoy the outdoors.

We got in 2 boat rides and that was it. As you can see the white caps in the back ground on Sat and the wind..... :( ( so sad)

We even wanted to pop in the hammock and take a rest..but it was sooo chilly with the wind coming off the lake.
Dark clouds coming rolling in.. and out boat sits lone and us in the cabin..
The clouds get bigger and darker.... where is the sun and warmth ???
Sooo since we could not go boating my hubby was working on the beach again. This seems to be his baby... last time we picked weeds and this time we got rid of the big grass ridge that the ice made over the winter.... his labor of love and it is all nice and sandy... to bad we don't have kids to play in it and make sand castles..... fun fun fun...
Hope you all had a good weekend.............................

Great dealssss POP up ........

So while I stopped at Costco tonight to get a few items for my Hubby's lunches and some fresh fruits. I happen to run into these. It was a great deal for my scrap booking and stamping. A 6 pk for 13.99. Which comes out to 2.33 a piece..not a bad price..not bad at all.

Sooooo if any of you have a Costco membership.. you might want to stop and get this good deal. Sometimes you just never know what you might find when you walk in there.....!

Thats all for tonight kids.... 3 post's and I am done... I have LOTS to do.. so I am gonna run !

Melissa's Blog

Hey everyone...

Want or need someone to take great photo's of you, your wedding, your family, you baby or kids ???? Here is the woman for you. She is great.
She did both our engagement pic's as well as our wedding pic's.

So I wanted to share her new blog with you call.

http://melissalouisephoto.blogspot.com/

Here is also her Website.

http://www.melissalouise.com/ I believe there are a few on my wedding pic's on her website as well.

Have a super time looking at her great work.

Gas tips...

Well I have been a busy girl..but I have lots to share tonight... so hope you get something out of each post tonight.
Here are so Gas tips I got off the following website.
I thought since Gas was costing us all soooo much I would add some tips on how to save....
Here they are and I hope you get a few you can use yourself.
Drive Sensibly
Aggressive driving (speeding, rapid acceleration and braking) wastes gas. It can lower your gas mileage by 33 percent at highway speeds and by 5 percent around town. Sensible driving is also safer for you and others, so you may save more than gas money.
Fuel Economy Benefit:
5-33%
Equivalent Gasoline Savings:
$0.20-$1.35/gallon
Observe the Speed Limit
While each vehicle reaches its optimal fuel economy at a different speed (or range of speeds), gas mileage usually decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph.
You can assume that each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like paying an additional $0.30 per gallon for gas.
Observing the speed limit is also safer.
Fuel Economy Benefit:
7-23%
Equivalent Gasoline Savings:
$0.29-$0.94/gallon
Remove Excess Weight
Avoid keeping unnecessary items in your vehicle, especially heavy ones. An extra 100 pounds in your vehicle could reduce your MPG by up to 2%. The reduction is based on the percentage of extra weight relative to the vehicle's weight and affects smaller vehicles more than larger ones.
Fuel Economy Benefit:
1-2%/100 lbs
Equivalent Gasoline Savings:
$0.04-$0.08/gallon
Avoid Excessive Idling
Idling gets 0 miles per gallon. Cars with larger engines typically waste more gas at idle than do cars with smaller engines.
Use Cruise Control
Using cruise control on the highway helps you maintain a constant speed and, in most cases, will save gas.
Use Overdrive Gears
When you use overdrive gearing, your car's engine speed goes down. This saves gas and reduces engine wear.

Note: Cost savings are based on an assumed fuel price of $4.08/gallon
Just something to think about as you get in your car/truck to drive!! Good luck everyone and save some Gas...HUH!

So Sorrryyyyyyyyy

Hello Everyone... its just been a busy week. I have some errands to do tonight but I will try and post.... Since I have alot to do tomorrow night as well.

3 day weekend gone.....

Another flower from our yard....
Well we hope you all had a super holiday weekend and did something fun and something safe.
At our home we got alot of stuff done and some R& R as well.
Sad that this 3 day weekend came to an end. I have to admit it was really nice to get that extra day off and have it paid which is always a nice bonus.

We started in right away thursday night with chores and it seemed to be the 'theme' all day Friday as well. Thought it was a holiday... we made our own by getting many small and big chores taken care of at home....
It is such a nice feeling. we got our garage cleaned up, my hubby fixed an old wooden wishing well.... fixed and then I stained it twice.. I picked weeds and mini maple tree's picked. I did it for hours but it was great. I also got my BIG GOAL done.... I spent a few hours cleaning and scrubbing my pond... then the same to the fliter. It is up and running.. it warmed up and we where able to add the fish tonight ! Yipppy.. it looks sooo pretty.
We got alot of other small details done as well..landscape lights in and bulbs replaces that where burnt out..tonz of things like that.. It is a great feeling to have sooo much done before the complete HOT weather.
Then on Sat..we made that our R&R day.. it was great... we didn't do much at all by sit around..watch T.V. and relax... We haven't been able to do that in weeks and it was much needed....

Today... we spent most of the day running errands and returning some items that we borrow from Family.
Here our my pond before I cleaned it.
Here is it after... my spitting bird and water fountain...
My fishies happly swimming about in the pond....and some flowers that are still waiting to open... here in Mn it was sooo cold for sooo long some of my flowers still have not opened yet and it is july. But the warm weather now should help.

Hope you all had a good weekend.... see ya later this week.... !!!

Happy 4th of July to allll Americans

AMERICA, WHY I LOVE HER
You ask me Why I Love Her?
Well, give me time and I'll explain.
Have you seen a Kansas sunsetOr an Arizona rain?
Have you drifted on a bayouDown Louisiana way?
Have you watched a cold fog drifting
Over San Francisco Bay?
Have you heard a bobwhite calling
In the Carolina pines,
Or heard the bellow of a diesel
At the Appalachia mines?
Does the call of Niagara thrill you
When you hear her waters roar?
Do you look with awe and wonder
At her Massachusetts shore,
Where men who braved a hard new world
First stepped on Plymouth's rock?
And do you think of them when you stroll
Along a New York City dock?
Have you seen a snowflake drifting
In the Rockies, way up high?
Have you seen the sun come blazing down
From a bright Nevada sky?
Do you hail to the Columbia
As she rushes to the sea,
Or bow your head at Gettysburg
At our struggle to be free?
Have you seen the mighty Tetons?
Have you watched an eagle soar?
Have you seen the MississippiRoll along Missouri's shore?
Have you felt a chill at Michigan
When on a winter's day
Her waters rage along the shore
In thunderous display?
Does the word "Aloha" make you warm?
Do you stare in disbelief
When you see the surf
Come roaring in at Waimea Reef?
From Alaska's cold to the Everglades,
From the Rio Grande to Maine,
My heart cries out, my pulse runs fast
At the might of her domain.
You ask me Why I Love Her?
I've a million reasons why:
My Beautiful America,
Beneath God's wide, wide sky.

Home....

All I want to do is stay home, be at home and get things done at my home.

Our to do list is getting longer by the day... not only that but, we have had so much going on.
Between being out of town and gone the last few weekends... we need to make some head way and get things done. I am the type of person that likes a clean and maintained, orderly home. However lately there seems to be a project or a mess or something going on that needs to be finished or needs attention.
Problem is there never seems to be the time.. so it never gets done.... not at least all of the things done that need to be done or things I would like to get done. With all of these items that are always in the back of my mind..nagging at me to do.. well that doesn't help either. Both my Hubby and I are hard workers.

We have taken on alot of projects already this year and well now..its getting to be alot.

The weeds in my rocks by my pond are calling my name VERY loudly... ( usually we don't have that issue) but this year we have. My pond usually is beautiful and up and running.. my water fountain is going...the fish are swimming around and playing. Here it is July and none of it has happened yet. So that will be my MAIN goal this holiday weekend... pull weeds and get my pond clean and my fish happily swimming. Sounds like such a wonderful holiday weekend.. doesn't it ??? Well I hope it works for me

CAR UPDATE....

As I posted before.. my car is in the shop.. it has been all week... daily they have been trying to figure out what is wrong with it. But with no luck. So I am going to get it tonight...... drive it again..until it dies on me again ..any time.. any place.... unexpected. ( If that is not stress right there ). It is always something.

Last week our entire garage door fell apart... this week it was the car..... GOD I need a break.......

We don't even have children yet and I am wondering what life will be like then.

I am starting to admire town home owners more and more..... while I love our home... it sure does entail an awful lot of work. We are always doing upgrades and improvements and projects.. while maintaining the rest of the house hold items and yard.

Well sorry my post is a downer today... just a bit over whelmed with all the things going on in life today and all of the other items calling my attention.....

Have a good day....

More to share

Hi Everyone..... well here are just a few more things to share from last weekend...

Below is my cool scrapbook I got on our honey caribbean cruise. Totally cool.. can't get this at the local store.

Here is a page I did...
Then I worked a bit on this small 8X8 scrapbok of our wedding...
Here are a few pages in it...
A few more...
This one is kinda hard to see..
Here are a few cards I did.....

Nancy had brought some of her stamps for us to use and so I made a hand full of these cards. Each a bit different. I like to mix it up a bit.
Here is a closer look at one of them. There is also glitter on them but u can not see that very much.

That is all for tonight... another night with things to get done.

I also have to start work tomorrow at 6am which means I get up at 4:30 am so it will be early to bed tonight for me...
