FireProof

My Mother had been telling me how good this movie was, when I saw it on the Redbox this week...I thought I would give it a try. While I have to say it is more of a 'chick' flick. It was a wonderful inspirational movie. It was moving and WOW what a message it sent to it's audience. Man oh man. I would suggest anyone to rent it and check it out. I think everyone who sees it definitively can learn something from this film !

You can also check out www.fireproofmymarriage.com.

Today I am a bit tired ,due to lack of sleep last night. As I am also trying to get ready for my Mother-In-Laws Birthday party here at our home tomorrow. So I have to run for now ! Lots yet to do for tomorrow !

P.S. It is a heat wave here in Mn at 44 degree's, we are all in shock and some of our yuckie snow is melting..YIPPPPPPPY !!! What more could we ask for. We really needed a break. We have all been batteling such old temps for sooo long now. The SUN and WARM is soooo nice and sooo welcomed!

Have a good weekend all !

WOW... loved what this says...

This is a long one, but the message is sooooooo worth it. For sure something to think about and reflect on. Something to remember with our children & young people as well.

An obituary of a U.S. citizen printed in the London Times........
Interesting and sadly rather trueToday we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. Hewill be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets theworm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend morethan you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are incharge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexualharassment for kissing a classmate, teens suspended from school forusing mouth wash after lunch, and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed torealize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little inher lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; by his wife, Discretion; by his daughter, Responsibility; and by his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers:
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Bad Luck and Bad News

Hi everyone.. this year is not starting out to be a very good one.

I have many ill family members as well as the most recent, my Mother In Law was told she has bone cancer and we all worry and pray for her.

Just over a week ago as I was getting ready for work, I have noticed that my entire center diamond was gone off my Wedding ring. I was devastated. Gone, not just the diamond but the entire prong and everything. Gone. Lucky my Hubby bought the life time warranty and I was faithful with my ring inspections. I was sooo worried what I would do if they would not replace my diamond. So I went to Jared and they took a look at my ring and after a pleasant talk with the Manger they are going to replace it, at no cost to me. WOW was that a relief. Otherwise I would not have a ring for some time.

Well today I was blind sided as I went to work and was told I will be laid off in the cuts they are making. I am just one out of hundreds. I have a few months before it happens. Which I am thankful for. Because some had to leave today. But I do not have any sort of degree, nor have I had to interview in over 12 years. I also do not have a resume. So I have alot of work to do. In these hard times it is very scary to me. Also up until this point my Hubby was working..with a few days off here and there. But now he is slow again. Which means a limited income if any.

It is sad to think I am just one of thousands of other people and family's in the same hard times as us.

Maybe I can find passion in something new, that is what I am hoping for !

Please understand if I do not post for a few days.

I ask you keep me in your prayers. As well as all the other thousands of people that are jobless in the United States.

Good night

New and Scary..but Heatlhy

Hello -

Some fellow Bloggers and Friends Pick a Word for each year. So my word for 2009 is Healthy !

While sometimes a bit scary... I am going to do it and take the PLUNG!

Becoming healthy for me this week includes taking a new medicine for my Diabetes. While it has nothing to do with controlling my blood sugars. It does prolong the bad side effects this disease does to my body and organs. But at a 100.00 a month it is not cheap. So I hope the rewards, out weight the high price tag. It is new to the market I guess. Infact the Pharmacist at my local Target had to read the directions with me.

Here is the "Pen" the medicine is in.
Why is this scary for me ? Because it involves needles and shooting my self twice a day. Well I hate needles. So this will not be a easy transition for me. But I have faith in myself that I can do it.
Besides just new meds for this year. I will also be doing other things to be come a healthier ME. For my mind, body, health, spirit and everything all together.
Wish me Luck !!!
I hope all my friends and family have a healthy 2009 as well !
Please take care of yourself!!!

Bathroom Update !

Hi Everyone.. our Bathroom is starting to come together a little more and more. Here are a few more updated pic's.

I went with all Brown hardware... the newest look.
I am crafty.. so here is something cute I made to sit on the vanity. This was a yucky silver color, so I spray painted it brown to match. Added a candle and and some glass beads and some accents.
My Hubby installed travertine title and a light in the shower. As well as you can see our custom order square layered ceiling titles that I just love against the chocolate brown walls.
Here again you can see a bit of the ceiling and the light fixture as well as part of our mirror.
Wow it is sooo fun to design and decorate!!
I will post more tomorrow ! Have a super weekend all and thanks for stopping by !

Something to make you think.......

If you always do the same thing, then you will always get the same result!
Wow... what a statement huh???? Something to think about for sure.
Often we do the same things over and over. Or the same mistakes and then wonder what happened or why it happened. When sometimes we don't stop to think. Maybe if we changed the action or what we are doing we might get a different result, maybe even one we might like better!
It is a new year, 2009. What can we change for the better ? For ourselves ? Our body ? Mind ? Stress level ? Health ? Family ? Friends ? Co - Workers ? Think of something we could change for the positive and see if the results are better then something or some how we handled things in the past !
You could apply this saying in soooo many parts of our lives and every day living !
Good luck to everyone ... try it and see what RESULTS you get !
Happy New Year everyone.
I know I am working on changing some of my behaviors this year in hopes for better results !
I hope whatever your dreams or desires are you can make them possible this year.

Deals and Steals

Hi Everyone...
Just a few deals and steals I found and wanted to share...

I found this cute magazine holder in the Target 1.00 Spot. What a deal and so functional and so cute at the same time.
Here is the planner I found last year at Barnes and Noble. I thought it was sooo cute and after a year in my work bag daily.. it held up very well. I thought it was a steal last year at 6.00......... wellllllllll.....
This year I got this one here below...not as cute I think as the one last year..but I like how much room and things I had in it. So I went on the look out for another but got there much later this year. So I got it 1/2 price at a mere 2.95. Even better.
While there I also found this super cute little purse size address book. I was also in need of... another steal and sooo cute. I just love the "My Little Black Book". Also in my favorite colors pink and black.
That is my deals and steals for today ! I hope you all had a good day. We had alot of snow here in Mn today. The ride home was not a pleasant one. But I always take the same attitude. Take it easy and nice and slow and I will get home when I get there and in one piece.
The weather man has us in for a very chilly wintery week with highs of below zero. But he promises a warm up at the end of the week at maybe a single or if we are lucky double digit number.
Man.................. if only I could go on vacation this year like last year!
Stay warm everyone and safe on the highways. If you are not an Mn dweller and in a warmer place...consider yourself lucky.

Today was our dear Parker's Baptism! Jes had school and so he had to miss it. But I had a good time as his God Mother ! It was a nice Sunday with agreat lunch back at the house ! Parker is such a nice addition to the family! He is such a cutie and he was sooo good during the church service. With just a few cries at the end!

We have had such a busy weekend ! Jes is going to school on the weekend and this month all of our weekends seemed to be booked ! I have something going every weekend. Which doesn't leave much time to get things done at home. This week we had somewhere to be every night after work.

Well time to go do a few things before the night is over !

Feel Good !

I wanted to share with you all a 'FEEL GOOD" story ! This week I had the opportunity do something for someone I will need met or see or hear to talk to. It was a great and rewarding experience.

This week myself and some co -workers volunteered at Feed My Starving Children. It is a Christan non-profit that sends meals to kids across the globe that have no food to eat. Did you know 18,000 kids die each day around the world due to no food ? Heartbreaking. So for 2 hours we went and made bags of meal to send to these kids. This place gets no government money. It is strictly from donations. Just while we where there, our group and 2 other groups. Bagged over 12,000 meals to be sent out.

It was a good learning experience and it really made you think.

They showed a video for a woman here that had her child's Birthday party there. You can volunteer at any age. I think it was a good experience for me as well as children. To make them aware in this world of cell phones, video games, ipods, and the latest fashions. We could help someone that has no place to live or no food to eat. What a good thing to teach our young people these days. Not only to people others, to offer your time and services and expect nothing in return. But to appreciate all the wonder gifts that they are given each day.

If you want more info to call and offer your assistant to volunteer. Or simply to send them a donation. Please visit. www.fmsc.org.

The whole name again is Feed My starving Children.

There are 3 locations in the metro !

Have a good weekend. Stay warm and safe all.

Remember... Each day is a gift, not a given right !

Mamma Mia

Mamma Mia...............

I am not one of those people that needs to see a movie right when it comes out. Infact I rarely see a movie in the theater at all. It is okay..but personally I rather sit on my couch with my nice polar fleece blank, in my sweat suit all curled up and my popcorn and pop and share it with my Hubby!

Well this weekend... I got this movie at the local Red Box. I thought it would be really good. I am a female and I do like musicals. But I have to be honest when I say this movie was not all that good at all. It was so slow moving and nearly ALL signing. It was just not my thing.

If you disagree I am sorry..but I am glad I only spent a 1.00 to see the movie !

Today was a long day at work. I hope tomorrow is a better day.

Update !

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year to you all !

We have had a busy household around here !

Our Holidays with Family was great ! It is nice to see everyone and chit chat with them all.
Today I will start to take down my Xmas items. Which is a huge undertaking, I am not looking forward to..but it needs to get done and someone has to do it.

Hubby is working again today in the basement to get all of the doors hung! He had 4 of them to do... then it will be to clear coat to them all and all of the trims for them as well and get the handles installed. But it is soooo exciting to see things coming along. Last night we went and ordered the ceiling tiles for the bathroom. Special order...so bummer it will take 3 weeks to get them in. But I did not want the generic looking ones.

Finishing a basement is a large expense and a constant mess, with tonz of garbage. But it is well worth it.
A craft project I am working on...
Above is a shot of the inside of the new guest bedroom down stairs. It will be a sand and sea theme as you can see from my color choices ! I can't wait to get it all together !

On other side notes ! I was asked to be my new nephews Godmother and of course I accepted the job with Honor ! Next week is his baptism and I am sad his Uncle ( Jes ) will have to miss it ! But I will be there with my camera and my grin !

While dealing with my own health issues. We are also dealing with and praying for a close family member that was diagnosed with a serious disease and we are all finding a way to deal as well as be supportive during this time of need for the family !

Here in Mn, we also have been getting our more then fair share of snow. Seems like at least a few times a week we get a few more inches added to what we already have ! While it does look pretty and made for a WHITE Xmas. Getting up an hour early from on top of my already early work schedule does not make it fun for an hour car ride into work in the elements. I envy all who can stay in bed and warm and cozy in their homes.
That is about all for now !

I hope all of you and your family's are doing well. Drop me a line or a hi on the comment section !

Stay warm.
