I use to be sooo good at keeping up my blog and the last few months I have fallen short and for that I am sorry.
Well it is OFFFFICALLL.... or basement is complete ! We couldn't be more pleased, and we did it all ourselves. Not a single thing hired out except carpet install. Of course when I say we.. I mostly mean my Hubby. I am soo blessed to be married to one of those DO IT YOUR SELFER types and he actually knows how to do it. Funny considering everything he does, he does well and he figures it all out him self. It was a big job and with some nagging from the wife ( me ) it is done. I had fun picking out paint colors and lamps and decor.. which if you know me is right up my league. I guess one might say I am my mother with a little more classic, contempory feel.
Nevertheless.. while expensive it was fun ! A girls dream to go to the store and pick out all sorts of things.
By this time nearly every employee at the local Menard's and Lowe's should know us by first name and I joke we should get a frequent buyers discount.
Thanksgiving was good, and although I actually got the Friday after off this year.. I found my 4 day weekend went much to fast.
We did however get the xmas items out in the yard this last weekend. While a bit down scale from our usual display.. with the snow coming to early this year... Jes said he wasn't going on the roof to hang our thousands of icicle lights and I cant say I blame the guy. But nevertheless... we have xmas cheer in the yard this year..as every year past !
I did get my tree up as well.... but it is bare and still awaiting its ornaments and such.
I wanted to take a stab at it tonight..but I think I am getting a nasty cold and fighting a headache so it will have to wait another night or two !
I can hardly believe it is almost December all ready. I hope this yucky MN winter passes quickly, as we have NO vacation planned like we did last year. Our vacation sits in the basement. But I cant say I mind. We have a 1/2 of a new house and its just great !
