Our Pumpkins !!

Well aren't pumpkins one of the BEST things about Halloween. I don't know about you. But I just LOVE them. They will however also be a part of my fall theme which will be next for a few weeks until Xmas.
Here is my pre-pumpkin.

Ahhh look at the insides. Love those seeds.
Below is the design of a witch. I wanted this on the pumkin and my husband cut it out like a quiz kid. Love it. Good job honey.
Then below is my pumpkin. The lame one. I was trying to make it scary, but it didnt work to well. Nevertheless it was sooo funny sharing the experience together.
Now I can't wait for the cute kidos to show up on our front door step. It is sooo fun to see them all dressed up.
Night night allll !!!!!!!!!!

Something to Ponder

The Dash
by Linda Ellis

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning to the end.

He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own,
the cars, the house, the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard;
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect
and more often wear a smile,
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.

So when your eulogy is being read
with your life's actions to rehash
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?

Creativity in the Home !!

Something to share...................

With the help of the construction of this by my husband. I made this valance for our bedroom. I also have one in my kitchen, over the patio door. But this one I changed it up a bit. I bought and stained and polyed custom wood trim and applied it to the valance to give it that extra detail. I really liked how it turned out. So creativity for me. Is not just with paper and ink. It also comes thru in our home and my decorating and such. Plus its nice to have something custom. No one else has one like it. Below is the before pic.

Here is a close up of the valance.

Here is the after pic of the window with the nice new valance. Thanks to my Hubby for his part and putting it up for me as well. Great things we can accomplish together.

Giving Thanks !

Have you ever thought about Freedom ?

Have you ever thought about what this flag means ? What it stands for?
Who saved it and made it for us.
For the United States and United We Stand !

Take a mintue to give thanks!
To all of those troops fighting for this flag each and every day and all the things it means to each and every one of us !
If you go to this web site,
http://www.letssaythanks.com/ you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! This is a great site. Please send a card. It is FREE andit only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them...

I got this from a good friend Jo ! I hope we can all send one. So pass the work and pass the link !

God Bless the United States & In God We Trust !!!!

Need some SUNNNNNNN!!!!!!

Well -

I need sun, sun, sun, sun, sun, sun pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I am not sure about some of you, but I am really getting tired of all these glummy dark clouds and rain here in Mn. We prayed for rain this summer when our yards where fried by the hot summer sun.
While a nice rain is good from time to time. It keeps my flowers blooming and grass green. When it goes on for days and days at a time. It is well, a little rather depressing. I have to admit. I am sure many of you are thinking the same thing. When will this rain ever stop. Soon I hope. How the forecast doesn't seem to reflect my wishes in that department.

Fall is here and soon will be winter. We have a TO-DO list a mile long and I am hoping we can really make a huge dent in it. Every year(winter) we have such good intentions. But that is all they ever are.. is intentions. This year they will be done. I think it makes a person feel better when they have accomplished items they wish and want to get done. As well as giving you self worth and a sense of accomplishment as well. The work is not always fun. But in my experience the pay off is usually always worth it.

So friends and family... please do be surprised if we are calling in some favors, or pay backs for help we have already offered to you. We could really use and love the support and helping hand. Don't also be shocked if we are home alot trying to get things done. Its nothing personal. Just time to make a difference.

Jes and I seem to be pleasers and always putting our home, our projects, our needs on the back burner to help other or go to other activities and such. As a result nothing happens and things that are our dreams and our ideas and our goals are going unaccomplished. So we are going to change gears a bit and meet some of our needs first.

Along the road of life, you learn many things, experience many things. As well as learning who cares, who uses, who is a friend, who maybe isn't as good as your idea of them was. Who will lend a hand and who won't. Who understands, who doesn't. Who judges, who only see's their side of things. Etc. Try and remember each day. Everyone is in a different spot in life, has different things happening whether they are good or bad, busy or bored. Has different view points and different priorities and different beliefs, different passions and different loves. Hopefully we can respect that and live together and be respectful of all those different things in each and everyone we know and be friend and love.

New Door

Ahhh its done ! Here is what our wedding money bought us ! It took 2 weekends to get it 100% percent done but it was well worth it. Jes had to make some coustom trim work and stain it and poly it all that those not sooo fun things. But all and all it was well worth it. I now have a wonderful door. It is sporting the look of a french door but its a slider!

We have need a new patio door for about 2 years. It really took some looking around to find what we wanted and what would work for us and our area.

We are hoping it will make a big impact on our heating bills this winter. It will be a good tight window and doors. Plus really giving the kitchen a new look. I love it.

Prescription Drugs are Robbery !

So I didn't have that good of a doctors appointment this week. But I was pleased to get something for my terrible migraines and pain. I had tried over the counter meds and nothing seems to really even make a dent in pain.

However I was extremely shocked when I went to fill my perscraiption. My co-pay was 48.00 for 9 pills of imitrex with a retail value of 235.99. Can you believe that ?????
235.99 for 9 pills. There is seriously something wrong with this world that a pill cost that much. That means these pills cost 26.11 each. With some of my other perscriptions I also had to fill and including my discount my bills was 100.00. The drug companys are really taking us to the bank and we let them. No other country in the world pays the drug cost that Americans do. It really makes me mad and it is very frustrating. I would easier take the 200.00 a month and spend it on something else. That's all for tonight...

I had to share my madness with you all.

Not so good Thursday !

Well it is dark and glummy yet again. Some sun would be nice.

I am tired and feeling a bit dark and glummy myself. I am looking forward to getting home and put on my sweat suit and relax a bit.

This morning I had my Doctor appointment. I knew I was going to get the 'lecture' but not like that one I got.

I guess I need to get back to eating better and lose some weight and get much better control over my health.
All of my numbers where very high. I need to make some choices and better ones for myself and my health.
I didn't like the things I was told today. But it is no ones fault other then my own. No one can fix it other then myself. So I am asking God to bless me with self control, with what I need and the will power I need to not eat the things that are bad for me. To NOT eat when I get stressed. Or eat better things for myself. Jes and I have decided last weekend we will be getting back to watching what we eat again. Making better choices for ourselves. I do sooo good for a while and then I give into temptation and eat naughty things. It is sooo easy to eat them and they are sooooooooooo good. Good to the taste, but NOT GOOD for my Bod !!!

Stress is another thing that is really bad and having a very negative impact on my body right now. I need to be around people who don't cause stress. I need to do things that don't cause stress. Try not to put myself in stressful situations as well. No one can ever get away with not having any stress. But hopefully I will find little things I can do to de-stress myself a bit. It just seems in my life there is always something to do and someone to tend to and something to take care of and a project to get done. That doesn't leave much "Me" time to de-stress. So I guess with putting our home as high on the list to get things done. I will also have to be putting myself up there as well.

One good thing... Doc did give me some meds for my nasty bi-weekly migraines I have been getting. Hope it does the trick !!!

More Halloween Cheer

Here is My Vampire that graces our front yard right along the side walk. This is only the top of him. But he has a whole body to him. Sooo fun.
Well today it is a warm one here in Mn. 83 or so on this sunny Sat. Can you believe it. 83 in Oct ? They where wondering if we are going to break records today with the temp. Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out.
Hope you are all having a good weekend and finding a nice way to enjoy yourselves. Today with help from a Friend Mike, Jes and him are installing our brand new patio door. What a big project that is. I didn't think it was going to be such a big job. But we will be ever so pleased when it is done. As will our heating bill this winter with a door that doesn't leak 1/2 our heat out of it.
Well soo many things I need to do and I am getting there step by step.. to becoming the Mrs., offically.
I got my license changed, social card changed and already got that in the mail. I got my new checks in the mail today. I have my name changed on email at work, but not on everything else yet. There is a perk also now we are married, Jes will get his own discount card and he is excitied about that. We added my name to Jes's checking account this morning. The men have it soo easy I tell ya. Show up at the church, say I do and it's that easy. No changing your name on everything in the world, getting all the million things done to look your best and by all means no spitting out any kids either. WOW... sounds good to me.
Jes and I sure enjoy being married. But I have to admit it is not all that different then before. But I get to call him my husband and I seem to find just joy in a small simple jesture. I know all you married people are laughing your ass off right now to that statement. But its true, at least for now. Today is 3 weeks that we've been married and its soo cute that every Sat. morning Jes reminds me how long we've been married. He has been doing small things like that, and its so fun to see.
Well I have many things to get done, and my cards to finish up for my card exchange this week at work.
Have a good weekend all !!!

More pic's to come...

Till next time..... love and peace.

Hand Made with Love

Soooo I found a bit more time in between all the things I am doing around the house.... ( head is starting to pound :( )

But.........................

I had to share....

These are a few hand made with love items that Jes and I where so lucky to receive for our wedding.
I know alot of talented people. To be honest I was kinda thinking I might have gotten some hand made items from a few other people I know. But I am grateful for these ones I did get.

As some of you might or might not know I like Dolphins. I use to collect dolphin items. I don't any longer because I just don't have any more room for them, and my collect is very big. Not really any more I need. But these are something in my collection I can use for years to come and remember Anne, the wonderful Mother and Family friend that made them for us.

These are hand made dish towels with dolphins on them. There was a wonderful set of 7 different ones. These are just two of them. Neat or what ?
Look at the one above, adorable and even a light house on it, which is another favorite of mine.

Below you will see a very large hand made blanket.
A very good friend at work, RaeLynn made this for me.
Boy do her hands do some great and wonderful things.
It looks wonderful in my living room for me to appreciate on a daily basis.

I wanted to add this close up on below, just to show you more of the details and great design.
What wonderful wedding gifts and what great items to remember my dear friends by.

Of course we got many other nice gifts and items we really wanted, we love and appreciate those as well. Thank you all. But I just wanted to share with you these great hand made items.

Wed, already !

I am tired tonight, with lots to accomplish.

I hope this week finds you doing well.

Fall is in the air and I am sooo pleased I have all of my Halloween decor in the house up. I have yet to get things up outside. But I have hopes to do that soon. It is fun and gives a whole different feel to the house.
Everyone that lives around us tells us how fun it is for them so see the Halloween items outside and on the house. However last year some items where stolen. I am hoping that does not happen again this year.

I am awaiting my wedding pic's from dear Melissa, I can't wait to see them. She took sooo many photo's and I am dying to see them all. I am sure one is better then the next. Special thanks for Aunt Rose for letting us use her RED 65 Mustang as well and a different Uncle Doug for taking photos as well. It will be great to see those as well.

I have a card exchange at work again this month. So I need to get those cards done and finished up.
When I am done I'll have to post those as well. It is always alot of fun. We have a rather large group of woman at work that are stampers. Some new to stamping and some are pro's who have been doing it for years. Nevertheless a great time to get together and have some lunch and exchange cards, get different ideas and skills from fellow peers. Nice to hear the kind words about your work as well.

We have many things that need to get done around the house before those snow flakes fall.
So this winter I have HIGH hopes it will be the winter to get things done and completed. Each winter we have plans to get things done and then something or another comes up and we never get around to it.
This year for a change our needs are coming first. We are getting things done around our home first.
So often we get side tracked with other things and other peoples projects and ours get neglected because of it. While we don't mind helping others. We also need to have time for us and our home as well. After a few years of little progress, its time to kick things in the butt and really get a move on things.

I have more to share, but I'll have to get to it later....

As the dryer is buzzzzzing it is calling me name !!!

Night for now... more to come later! :)
